This is my first time i visit here. I found interesting things to many in your blog, mostly to the debate. Of the tons of comments on your articles, I’m not the only one who has all the fun here!

Originally the US went into Afghanistan to "get" Osama bin Laden whose name has hardly been mentioned by the current administration or anybody else for years. Now the war has morphed into a counterinsurgency which means that we need to build waste water plants and power stations in addition to winning the hearts and minds of the people and defeating the Taliban. This always happens in unwinnable wars: we decide to do nation building instead of winning the unwinnable. It puts a nice patina on a ridiculous situation and covers up a lack asdfof knowing what the hell we're there for. And it saves face. The world's greatest superpower can't be seen as losing a war to the world's most retarded country, now can it?

Man, you are really making great time!
If I may make an observation on your route, the section from Lake Laberge to Teslin crossing is VERY swampy and quite unpleasant. I have been through there a few times, and it always sucks. Wouldn't slow you down, but the Fourty Mile section of the Yukon river below Laberge is very pleasant and fast.
Keep on keeping on man!

Thanks for sharing! The reason for your blog is always to document your life and give your personal thoughts. A few idea are usually distinct with me but incredibly specific. What you would like to offer to the modern society, I believe I've been recognized that. As long as everyone do good and assume that.r

Thank you for this post Andrew. I appreciated you sharing with us how the stress, and anxiety got to you and brought you to tears at times.

It reminds one of how amazing a feat this is and that if it brings such a capable adventurer to that point, that the rest of us should approach our own outdoor challanges with serious respect for the challanges such environments present.

Good luck, be safe & keep sharing your experiences!
