There’s a dirty little secret among shoemakers: While a shoe’s mesh or leather upper might be anatomically correct, where your foot rests is completely, un-orthotically flat. That’s why most performance shoes include a removable footbed. And that’s why Vasque vowed to do things differently with its 11.4-ounce Transistor FS. Using a new proprietary technology, Vasque created a full 360-degree mold, shaping an anatomical midsole and upper as one and eliminating the need for a footbed. The result is a bit lighter and infinitely cozier than the average trail shoe. Plus, the foot sits closer to the ground for a more balanced and natural feel. $100; vasque.com

These shoes look really good. Like this style shoe. They remind me of the way I used to draw shoes on women when I was little. Nevertheless, I'd just say they're ok, but only for the show.
